All FPVC REN & Power Teams participate in the NCVA Power League. NCVA hosts tournaments at venues across Northern California. Please use the link below to see more information on the NCVA.
The Power League consists of 1 day and multiple day tournaments. Teams will participate in Qualifiers, 3 1-day League Tournaments, and Regional Championships. Multiple Day Tournaments may be Stay and Play. 1 Day tournaments are never Stay and Play and it is up to the family to make their own arrangements if needed. Venues will be posted and modified by the NCVA up to a week before the tournament.
Play usually starts around 8am. Players should plan to arrive at least an hour before and should refer to their coach for the time of arrival.
One Day Tournament Expectations
Tournaments will start with pool play followed by bracket play. Most teams average 4-6 matches. Play finishes by the late afternoon. Play also may be modified towards the end of the day if the tournament is running late. The top three teams will move up a division while the bottom three teams move down a division.
Multi-Day Tournament Expectations
Tournaments will have multiple rounds of pool play followed by bracket play. Day 1 consists of pool play and possibly some crossover matches or the start of the next pool. Day 2 will finish pool play followed by bracket play. If there is a Day 3, bracket will occur on Day 3.
Online schedules will be posted through the NCVA usually the week of the event. The link will be posted on our pages.
If a tournament is a "Stay and Play" tournament, teams and families are required to stay at the hotel assigned in order to participate. FPVC will set up team blocks for Stay and Play events for families to book rooms.
USAV National Qualifiers are bid tournaments for National Championships. Teams can enter into any division regardless of skill. The division a team enters is usually based on 1. The team's best opportunity to receive a bid or 2. Team overall experience.
Tournaments take place across the country. Travel is the responsibility of the athletes and their families. Athletes should plan to arrive the day/night before the tournament begins. If you are flying home on the last day of the event, you should book flights 6 pm or later. It is possible you could still be playing into the late afternoon or the tournament could run late. Please stick to this rule of booking return flights after 6 pm on the final day.
*NOTE: If you commit to a REN team, you are expected and required to attend all three days of a Junior National Qualifier.
